Ooooo, what an exciting evening it will be! Ava is being moved to the "growers and feeders" part of the NICU - she is no longer in the "acute" part, and it is a great sign of the doctor's confidence in her! (Mama always knew her pumpkin was a "well" preemie, of course). Also, mama can start using her Lact-Aid supplemental nurser (www.lact-aid.com) to fully breast feed - and baby will not be getting a naso-gastric feed at this time. We can only do this once per day, but it is great progress! Lastly, she is moving into a "regular" bassinet - like they use in the "regular" newborns nursery - she will have to maintain her own body temparature. I am amazed that such a tiny package can have the strength and will to make this much progress - she is so strong and staying so good-natured throughout all this, I am in awe of her :)
